About Us
Rockvale has been in local fisherman Neil MacPhail’s family for the last three generations. The croft came to the MacPhail family after the First World War when the crofts of Balephetrish were allotted to returning servicemen on the Club System. At this time the crofts were all given names, Parkhouse, Hillview, Hillcrest and Rockvale to name a few. The surrounding croft is now rented out to a local crofter and used for beef cattle.
Rockvale has been run as a B&B for the last 11 years, this year it will be offered as a self-catering let as we feel this is a better accommodation type in the current climate. Alison and Neil live next door and will be able to offer any information or help required but are equally happy to leave you in peace to enjoy yourselves!
We hope that our combination of local knowledge and hospitality experience will help to make sure your stay on Tiree meets all of your expectations … and exceeds them!
