About Us
Rockvale has been in local fisherman Neil MacPhail’s family for the last three generations. The croft came to the MacPhail family after the First World War when the crofts of Balephetrish were allotted to returning servicemen on the Club System. At this time the crofts were all given names, Parkhouse, Hillview, Hillcrest and Rockvale to name a few. The surrounding croft is now rented out to a local crofter and used for beef cattle.
Rockvale was run as a B&B from 2009 to 2020. From 2021-2024 Rockvale was let as a self catering house. For 2025 we will be merging the two and offering B&B during Scottish term time and week long self catering lets during the Scottish school holidays.
We hope that our combination of local knowledge and hospitality experience will help to make sure your stay on Tiree meets all of your expectations … and exceeds them!
